A Naropa in New York Series event, presented by Abc Home, with Garrison Institute & Tricycle Magazine
Perception as Seed of Poetry with Reed Bye
This talk will explore the intimate relation between perception and poetic expression. The view on perception will be grounded in Buddhist insights and informed by the teachings of Chögyam Trungpa, and the perspective on poetics will be illustrated by passages from The Volta Book of Poets, a recent anthology of contemporary North American poetry. The talk will focus on perception and inquisitiveness as the source of our basic impulse toward the poetic, and suggest ways of creatively engaging it.

Naropa in New York: an abc series at Deepak Homebase, co-presented with Garrison Institute & Tricycle Magazine
The Naropa & abc home partnership offers a New York City audience the rare opportunity to experience the practices and pedagogies that lie at the heart of Naropa University, founded in 1974 by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in Boulder, CO. Through quarterly presentations, performances and workshops featuring Naropa faculty, we endeavor to integrate a contemplative view into society in order to foster the next generation of enlightened leaders.
